I’m Ashton Brown, and I found a love for a very niche sport: ping pong.
When I was a kid, my parents worked a lot.
As a result, I would go into after school programs in a community-run recreation center, which we just called the Maritime Center.
They had a ping pong table in one corner of the room, and that’s where I gravitated towards every single time I went in there.
It was fun, relaxing, and it was something to look forward to every day.
Nobody rages and gets stressed out playing ping pong, you know?
This was my hobby for years, and in college, I actually bought a ping pong table and put it in my dorm.
I played a ton with my roommate.
So am I the most certified ping pong expert on the planet?
Not really, but what I am is an enthusiast who’s been playing for decades, and I wanted to share my experience with the world.
Ping pong can get competitive, it has its professional scene, but it’s also a lot of fun and a great way to engage in a low-impact sport in the comfort of your own home.
